4-Core ODC-4 to LC Armored Fiber Optic Patch Cord | Outdoor Breakout Cable

HHD Fiber supplies factory-terminated 4-core ODC to LC breakout cables for outdoor telecom, FTTA, broadcast and industrial fiber links. Each assembly connects an ODC-4 plug or socket at one end to four LC fanout connectors at the other, with one optical fiber terminated to each LC connector.
The cable combines flexible helical stainless-steel armor, aramid reinforcement and a black, UV-resistant 5.0 mm TPU jacket. OS2 single-mode G.657.A1 fiber is available as a standard configuration; OM3 and OM4 multimode options can be specified for compatible equipment.
Configure the ODC connector type, LC polish, fiber mapping, cable length, breakout length, armor grade and protective accessories for the installation. LC connectors can be specified as individual simplex connectors or in a duplex arrangement where the equipment interface requires it. Serial-number labels and optical test.
The ODC connector is rated IP68 when mated with its matching connector. This rating does not apply to the LC fanout end or to the complete assembly.

Applications
FTTA and RRU optical links: Connect a rugged outdoor ODC-4 interface to LC ports or a patch panel where specified by the system design.
Broadcast and outside production: Use as an ODC to LC fibre patch lead for outdoor production, broadcast vehicles and temporary camera links.
Live events and rental stock: Configure the cable length, fanout and labels for repeated setup and retrieval. Use a reel sized to maintain the cable’s specified bend radius.
Outdoor industrial networks: Connect compatible field equipment, cabinets and distribution points that use ODC and LC interfaces.
Temporary and emergency networks: Deploy a pre-terminated armored fiber assembly for temporary field communications and network restoration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ODC to LC breakout cable?

It is a factory-terminated fiber assembly with an ODC connector at one end and separate LC connectors at the other. This 4-core version has four fibers, with one fiber terminated to each LC connector. Connector gender and fiber mapping can be specified for the equipment.

Can I order an ODC-4 plug to 4 × LC/UPC?

Yes. The ODC end can be configured as a plug or socket to match the mating interface. The LC end can be supplied with UPC or APC polish, subject to the equipment requirements.

Is this an FTTA or RRU/BBU optical jumper?

It can be used in FTTA and remote-radio fiber links when the system uses the matching ODC-4 and LC interfaces. Confirm the connector gender, fiber type, polish and channel mapping against the equipment before ordering.

Is the complete cable IP68 waterproof?

The ODC connection is rated IP68 when mated with its matching connector. The LC fanout end does not have that rating, so the complete ODC-to-LC assembly should not be described as IP68 unless the full assembly has been specified and tested for that rating.

Can the cable length and breakout length be customized?

Yes. Cable length and breakout length are made to the project requirement. Provide the required overall length, fanout length, connector arrangement and fiber mapping when requesting a quotation.

Is it suitable for repeated deployment?

The TPU jacket, aramid reinforcement and flexible steel armor are designed for field handling. For repeated winding and retrieval, use a suitable reel and maintain the specified dynamic bend radius.
Is this a fiber pigtail?
This product is a connectorized ODC-to-LC patch cord or breakout assembly. “Pigtail” usually describes a fiber assembly with a connector at one end and bare fiber at the other.
