40mm single-fiber fusion splice protection sleeves with 0.5–1.5 mm steel rods, clear heat-shrink tubes and 10/100-piece or custom packing.

The HHD Fiber 40mm fiber optic fusion splice protection sleeve is designed to protect and reinforce a single-fiber fusion splice inside compact splice trays, fiber distribution boxes, optical distribution frames and splice closures.

Each sleeve consists of a transparent heat-shrink casing, a hot-melt inner tube and a steel reinforcing rod. During heating, the outer casing contracts around the splice while the inner tube and reinforcing rod help secure the fusion joint against bending and handling stress.

Five steel rod diameters are available: 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm and 1.5 mm. The corresponding after-shrink sizes range from 1.3 mm to 3.08 mm, allowing installers and equipment manufacturers to select a sleeve according to the fiber construction, splice-tray slot and available installation space.

Key Features

Compact 40 mm length:** Designed for splice trays and enclosures where installation space is limited.
Single-fiber splice protection: Intended for individual fusion-spliced optical fibers.
Five reinforcing rod sizes: Available with 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 1.2 or 1.5 mm steel rods.
Transparent heat-shrink casing:Allows the splice position to remain visible before and during heating.
Hot-melt inner tube: Encloses the stripped fusion-splice area during the shrinking process.
Mechanical reinforcement: The internal steel rod helps protect the splice against bending and handling damage.
Multiple after-shrink sizes: Provides options for different splice trays, enclosures and fiber constructions.
Flexible packaging:Available in 10 pcs/bag, 100 pcs/bag or customised quantities.

How to Select the Correct 40mm Splice Sleeve

Dimensions should be confirmed against the approved drawing before ordering

Before ordering, check the following:

1. Required size after contraction
2. Steel reinforcing rod diameter
3. Hot-melt tube inside diameter
4. Splice tray slot dimensions
5. Fiber coating or buffer construction
6. Fusion splicer heating-oven compatibility
7. Required quantity and packaging
Do not select a splice sleeve only by its rod diameter. The finished after-shrink size and the available splice-tray space should also be confirmed.
